I used to work for a certain uniformed, badged group of grumps at an international airport. Yanni comes up to my booth and hands me his stuff. I said "wow, Magnum PI!, nice to meet you." He said "I am Yanni." I said "I loved that show, driving around in that cool car, the helicopter, TC..."
"I am Yanni" "It must have been so much fun to do that show, eh?"
"I am Yanni" "Can't beat Hawaii for location" "I am Yanni"
After he insisted he was Yanni about 10 times, I let him go. I HAD to make sure he was Yanni

so I saw this show and one of the characters died and it was super super sad and stuff. They carried out her wishes and dusted her ashes in the water... It got me thinking. What would matt do?
I'm thinking get my ashes put into gel caps (vegetarian ones) and ask my friends and loved ones to take one. C'mon, everyones taking matt. All the cool people at least. One pal said no way, yucky, weird-but others are totally cool with it. I'm thinking that might be the plan. I was chatting with my friend laura (who will swallow matt) and she had the idea of having my body plasticised on a bicycle with a finish line tape snapped across my chest. throw in some mechanized legs and that would be super sadly ironic.

ahh summa vacation! besides being a totally good karma job, teaching lets the be totally lazy for 2 months in a row. Bring on the projects! Lose the razor, don't wear a watch, forget what day it is, go on long bike rides, sleeping in, reading, study japanese.
In other news, I am free from horizon. What a horrible place that turned out to be. 11 people out of 20 left this year. Psyched to be moving to a great new school in Tokyo. Moving house next month and will have 20.23 sq meters. Way bigger than my current 15.72 sq meters (I love how Japanese apartments give it to you to the hundreth of a meter). Ive learned a lot from living in this space. Everything-even that coffee cup takes up space in your 15.72 sq meters. Buy the smallest version, especially if it doubles as something else. Ill be in Chiba which is about 10 min outside of tokyo. Not the swankiest of locals, but its cheap, big(ish) and everything is included. I had to pay for the whole year in one shot though, yikes
